Book Description
Buckle your seat belts.Number one New York Times bestselling author Janet Evanovich is moving into the fast lane with Metro Girl, a thrilling, high-octane misadventure with high stakes, hot nights, cold-blooded murder, sunken treasure, a woman with a chassis built for speed, and one very good, very sexy NASCAR driver who’s along for the ride.
"Wild" Bill Barnaby's dropped off the face of the earth and big sister Alex heads for Miami, Bill's last known sighting, on a harrowing hunt to save her brother ... and maybe the world. Truth is, Alex has been bailing her brother out of trouble since they were kids. Not that Bill's a bad sort. More that he acts first and thinks later. Unfortunately, this time around, Wild Bill will be Dead Bill if Alex doesn't find him in time.
Alex blasts through the bars of South Beach and points her search to Key West and Cuba, laying waste to Miami hit men, dodging Palmetto bugs big enough to eat her alive, and putting the pedal to the metal with NASCAR driver Sam Hooker.
Engaged in a deadly race, Wild Bill's "borrowed" Hooker's sixty-five foot Hatteras and sailed off into the sunset ... just when Hooker has plans for the boat. Hooker figures he'll attach himself to Alex and maybe run into Bill. Maybe Hooker can salvage what's left of his vacation. And maybe Hooker'll get lucky in love with Bill's sweetie pie sister. After all, Hooker is NASCAR Guy. And NASCAR Guy is good at revving a woman’s engine.
The race to the finish is hot and hard, taking Alex and Hooker into international waters, exposing a plot to grab Cuban gold and a sinister relic of the Cuban missile crises. Creative cussing and sexual innuendo included.

Just received the book! Can't wait to dig in!
GREAT read! Typical Janet fun! ;)
Sent off to Sherri in TX today!

Rec'd today! Figures, I just checked out 4 books from the library! LOL. But I'll put this one first and get on it today!
Great fun in the Evanovich style we've all come to know and love. I loved NASCAR guy, and especially Judey and his dog! What a hoot. I will PM HallieK and get on to her as soon as possible. I have to say, though, that Janet's portrayal of Baltimore, throughout the book, is not like the Baltimore I knew and loved through my husband!
Got this in the mail right before Christmas last week! Will read it as soon as I'm finished with the Nero Wolfe I'm in the middle of reading right now! Looking forward to some Janet Evanovich!
Another good show by Evanovich! Stephanie and Ranger they aren't, but Barney and Hooker are great characters and the story was fun! I wonder if she'll write any more adventures for them. It might be fun to see what kind of trouble they could get into.
Mailing this out to BountifulPots on Saturday.

GOt this yesterday and started it last night. I'm not quite halfway into it yet, but it's already quite enjoyable. So far it's the first of her "other" books that's come even close to the Stephanie Plum books, and I'm loving it! I'll journal again once I finish.
I thought I had journaled this, but apparently not. I had GREAT fun with this one. It was the first of hers that wasn't a Stephanie Plum that I didn't think was kinda second rate. The characters are quite enjoyable. I spent most of the book wondering how she was going to fill up the space, but every time I thought it was almost done, there was a new twist that sent it off in a new direction. I will be sending this on ASAP to KAtieDeMaio.
Received in the mail today. Have a few more rings before it. I will get this out ASAP.
This book was cute, but I feel like I didn't have the desire to read it like I do the Stephanie Plum novels. I loved NASCAR guy, though!!! I can only imagine what he looks like. Waiting for an address to send it on to the next person.
Sending this on to MattH. I couldn't get the other two members to send me their address. Sorry.
Thank you so much! The book arrived last week while I was out of town, that's why the delay in registering. I'm really looking forward to a quiet evening of laundry and reading...
Got this one in the mail today. Thanks to MattyH for noticing I'd been skipped over and contacting me. (I never received a PM from Katie requesting my address... obviously BookCrossing PMs screwing up again. For future reference, feel free to use the email address posted on my profile page if you don't hear from me.)
I've got a couple books to finish up before I start on this one, but I should be starting on it within a week or two. Thanks to yllus for sharing! :)

A great read for sure! Sometimes while reading, I'd start laughing out loud and Mike would look at me like he missed something! Heh, of course he did, he's not reading along with me... :)
Anyhoo, I really enjoyed the characters. Barney, Hooker, Judey and Brian... all favorites. Though I've only read the first two Stephanie Plum books so far, in my opinion, this one ranks right up there with them. (I'd heard that some of her other works outside of SP weren't nearly as good.)
Since Maddog1404 was also skipped last time around, I've PMed him to see if he's still interested in reading this. Otherwise, if I don't hear from him either, I'll move on to spaceystacey (since MattyH was the one who sent it to me).
yllus, thanks for sharing yet another great book. I can pretty much be assured that any bookring you start will be a great read! (Though being a bunny person, I couldn't bring myself to try out that Bunny Suicides book. My poor wittle buns would get so mad at me if I dared bring the subject of suicidal bunnies into the house!)

This is now heading South to Maddog1404 in Savannah, GA (who like myself was skipped the first time around due to BookCrossing PM problems). It was packed up today to go out in Monday's mail stream via Media Mail.
I don't like this as much as the Stephanie Plum Series, But a good read.
Will hopefully be forwarding this on Friday

Home again home again jiggety jig! The book is back home. I hope everyone enjoyed it.
I enjoyed this book, although I was hoping for a little more off the wall humor like in the Plum series. Having said that, the book has its own humor, and you tend to fall in love the with characters. Enjoyable.
