I liked the book. It was a little confusing for me sometimes with all that computer talk, but I still liked it. I'm surprised it took them THAT long to find that kill code. I picked up on it right away. But, that's how books are...:)

What would happen if everyone suddenly had access to an unbreakable code? This is the nightmare scenario that the National Security Agency (NSA) faces in this lightning-fast thriller. The NSA is tasked with breaking the codes of the nation's enemies to protect the nation's security. When a new, supposedly unbreakable code emerges, the NSA races to recover the security codes to keep the code a secret. From the streets of Seville to the NSA headquarters, the tension builds as time runs out, until a climax that almost destroys the nation's security forever.

Dan Brown writes with authority, and much of what he describes is quite believable. Unfortunately, the climatic ending turns out to be the weakest part of the story. In order to build the tension, Brown's characters, which to this point have been portrayed as quite intelligent, suddenly develop an epidemic of stupidity. Their inability to solve the final riddle quickly actually detracts from the impact of the conclusion. Otherwise, this is a thrilling story, the book equivalent to the summer blockbuster movie: Full throttle entertainment, but very little depth.

First of all I must apologize for taking so long with this book. I simply loved it, but I have to practice on my english because of all the computer terms I found on this book. I've found all the Dan Brown books very captivating and every chapter leaves you intrigued to read the next one. I'm not going to tell you about the story, due to spoilers, but the narrative is well constructed and the suspense is high. Not as good as Da Vinci Code though, with all the computer terms, but I loved it. I will be sending this to the other bookcrosser in line == QueenSissi ==. PCSAF is unavailable at this time to read it. Thanx again SqueakyChu. :)

I think this one was more interesting than the others "well-known" books by Dan Brown.

The idea of my emails and messages being read by the NSA is kind of frightening, though I'm afraid they'd be bored to death...

Nevertheless, I do enjoy privacy and I just hope this is just a novel.

The 4th book by Dan Brown I read..It was very good when talking about entertainment,but if you've already read the other books by this author,you'd have understood how I feel..Dan Brown writes using a recipe.I mean that he uses the same techniques of attention grabbing in every book.Just don't read them one after the other, because you will get the feeling that you are reading the same book, only with a different plot and slightly different characters.All the above are true for Angels and Demons and The DaVinci Code too, but I liked these a bit more because of the art history references.

I read this within one day and I enjoyed it a lot (I think I liked it better than Angels and Demons, the only other book by Dan Brown I read so far). There were just so many actions turns and I just couldnt put it down before I've finished it. ;) thats just the kind of books I enjoy!

Have just finished another ring book 'The Secret Life of Bees'. So I started this book last night. I think I will enjoy this as much as the other two that I have read.

I have now read three of Brown's books and this is the second turkey. It is simplistic, far fetched and has far too many coincidences to be believable. I found his descriptions of Spain and the Spanish at best insulting, at worst racist. He does have a market available though for chewing gum for the brain. As long as you don't want to think about what your reading then this is a very easy one day book.
