From AMAZON.COM:-

Audrey Niffenegger's innovative debut, The Time Traveler's Wife, is the story of Clare, a beautiful art student, and Henry, an adventuresome librarian, who have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was thirty-six, and were married when Clare was twenty-three and Henry thirty-one. Impossible but true, because Henry finds himself periodically displaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous, his experiences unpredictable, alternately harrowing and amusing.

The Time Traveler’s Wife depicts the effects of time travel on Henry and Clare's marriage and their passionate love for each other, as the story unfolds from both points of view. Clare and Henry attempt to live normal lives, pursuing familiar goals -- steady jobs, good friends, children of their own. All of this is threatened by something they can neither prevent nor control, making their story intensely moving and entirely unforgettable.

A very good read. Totally enjoyable. Sci Fi is not my type , but this book is totally different. Realistic in a strange nice way. I highly recommend it.

i loved this book. first i thought that the author would have to fullfil a pretty hard job to make it plausible that henry is a time traveller and that there won´t be any questions left unanswered. well, there weren´t any. the only thing i was left wondering was the incident with the lion statues on the entry of the chicago arts project. i would have loved to read about clare´s view (well, i won´t say too much that the following ring members have something to look forward, too).

this book travelled with me from melbourne/australia all the way to the south-west corner of germany and once across germany to jena.

i hope it will arrive safely at drutt´s place in the uk where it will be mailed today...

Maybe I'm in a strange, emotional place right now but this book blew me away. It pained me to read it and it pained me to come to the end of it.

It's beatifully written, and following both Clare's and Henry's perspectives makes it incredibly real. It's also raw and overwhelming at times and several times I had to put it aside to come back to later.

I'm not going to write any more about it here, in case I might spoil it for future readers.

It's a wonderfull book. Read it and enjoy it.

I've followed drutt's suggestion, did a little internet search and discovered Audrey Niffenegger's site
It's mostly under contruction, but there is a link to a touching short story that I strongly recommend you all to read.

Thanks for this ring, Faming-Ice. It was really a pleasure.
