Having just finished and released a ghost story book for Hallowe'en, I had to decide what to read next. I saw this one and thought, yup, in homage to the Red Sox, this shall be the one.. Paht way through, so fah so good (so good, so good, so good!)

A "curious" case indeed.. Also: odd, entertaining, mystifying, jolting, pleasurable, creative, etc...

Far more vast than I was expecting. What do I mean? Well, I guess I was expecting the story to revolve strictly around baseball. Very glad that it didn't.. The story was marvelous, had to keep reading.. ("just keep reading, just keep reading")

Sidd was a character, if you know what I mean...

Two things I'd like to share:

A partial description of Debbie Sue, Sidd's girlfriend: Like so many girls brought up in the South, she ended almost all of her sentences with a question mark, as if she lived in a kind of woundrous world in which she was not sure of anything. "I went to the Bay last night? With Sidd? We swam out in the darkness and porpoises were out there? We could hear them snuffling? And breathing?"

How do you get the live goose out of the bottle? There, it's out!

Yesterday I gave this book to a friend of mine as part of a prize for correctly answering a question on my blog. The other part of the prize: plastic bag full of used golf balls.

Good on ya mate!

"I never win anything!"

I needed to bring a light weight book on a camping trip over new years, so I brought it and read the first part in our tent. It was -20 degrees celsius; my breath froze and cracked on the pages! I had to put it down because my hands got very cold. After reading the first part, I don't believe Sidd Finch is real. Although I now have an inkling to drop balls from tall structures.
