The adaptation of the first mini-series. And it is wonderfully done.
I believe this was my second copy of this book, as I killed the first one by reading it too much (and leaving it out in the sun -- black cover + sun = falling out pages) --
I went through my PC shelf again, and have decided on several more books that will be better off cruising the world than collecting dust on my shelf.

I was delighted to find this in the A-to-Z bookbox, as I loved the '80s miniseries.
I really enjoyed that show, despite the required suppression of disbelief that aliens with lizard-faces could successfully make human expressions through the masks they had to wear {wry grin}. One of the fun features of the story: "scientists" were cast as the bad guys. Not nuclear physicists or genetic experts, all scientists - I think there was even a scene involving a howling mob shrieking "Send out the scientists!" or something. Great fun - at least until the body-count started rising, whether from humans who'd been seduced by the promises of the Visitors or from the more vicious of the Visitors themselves. Lots of characters to love or hate, and of course lots of parallels to real-world situations, leading to "how would I have acted under these circumstances?" musings...
Martin was my favorite "V". Who was yours?
[There's a TV Tropes page on the series.]
