Journal Entry 1 by Helly77 from Burnley, Lancashire United Kingdom on Wednesday, October 20, 2004
From Amazon.com Medical examiner Sara Linton and police chief Jeffrey Tolliver make their fourth appearance in this riveting new back-and-forth thriller that grounds a brutal attack by two young men on the Grant County, Georgia police department in a twelve-year-old Alabama murder case that occurred while Sara and Jeffrey were just beginning their tumultuous romance. En route to a beach vacation shortly after they meet, the couple takes a detour to the small town where Jeffrey grew up and began his law enforcement career. But their carefree holiday is interrupted when his best friend from childhood, a fellow cop, is charged with murder after killing a man who broke into his house. Despite his subsequent confession, Jeffrey believes there’s more to the story than Robert is telling him, and when the skeleton of a young woman with whom both Robert and Tolliver were once involved is discovered in a secret cave only they knew about, and Robert admits to her murder too, Tolliver must again confront a past he thought he had long since put behind him. Reserving for a bookring.

Slept only 3 hours last night and why... because I just had to finish the book. At first I was not that impressed about it; it is the same thing when you'll start in the middle of a series and you can't help wondering what has happened in the previous books. But then all of a sudden you just can't stop reading. So I could say that liked it; I just hope that she will keep up her standards (and not become such a disappointment as Patricia D. Cornwell - good start but the latest 3-4 books in the Scarpetta series are really bad). Have sent it today to kubchen. Happy reading!

Thanks em64, just received the book. Looks very good and I would like to start to read straight away, but first I have to work and then go home and finish my other bookring book. Hopefully I finish that one this weekend and then I will start to read the Indelible ! 26/12/04: What a marvelous book! I absolutely loved the start of the book, you were just pulled in , everything happend so fast, and before you even could say 'indelible' you were in the middle of the story. I loved the change of past and present, I loved the story .. It probably would be easier to say what I didn't liked - that the book is finished. Anyway, I found a new favourite author! If anybody wants to start a bookring with another of her books, count me in! Will send out the book to FiBe next year, when she back home ..

Ok book is finished. I didn't like this book as much as her others although this one didn't have as much in depth detail about gruesome injuries which I was thankful for (I'm very squemish). However it was a good story, very well written and full of twists and turns until you were totally baffled about who did it (and for me the baddie was a complete surprise - didn't even enter my head). Thanks Helly77 for starting the bookring. I have pm'd niccijl for her address so will send it on when received.

This is my first Karin Slaughter book, and I have to admit to expecting a Cornwell clone. Very pleasantly surprised though. It took a little while for me to get into the jumping back and forward in time, but once I did I couldn't put it down. Will definitely be reading more of her. Will mail out to ms-attitude-ca tomorrow.

Just thought I would pop my head in and say Hi to everyone who is taking part in the ring, and that I am glad that the book is being enjoyed :o) I started this ring because I ended up with 2 copies, and I have just finished the second :o) Like em64 I had a very sleepless night last night because I just had to find out who dunnit! I have read all the Grant County novels and they seem to get better and better! This one did start out slowly, and It was a little confusing at first, but then the pieces of the puzzle just seemed to drop perfectly into place, until for me it became absolutelly un-put-downable! I just cant waut for the next one! I hope the rest of the ring members enjoy this as much as I have done :o) Thanks for playing!

Finished over the weekend. Of the Karin Slaughter books I've read this is not the best, but that said, I still found it very enjoyable. NZPussicat doesn't appear to exist in the BC database, so I have PM'd Helly77 to see what to do with this next. 12/01 - Ok, the book is now mine to do with as I please.
