Not for the faint of heart. This is true Bukowski at it's finest. A read that is meant to travel far and wide.

Released on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at Hostelling International Anchorage--H Street in Anchorage, Alaska USA.

A rainy day found many wayward travelers lounging about. Bukowski was 'released' lovingly and placed in the couch/game room.
As I said, this book must travel far and wide...

6 out of 10

I picked up this book while staying one night at the HI Hostel in Anchorage, Alaska.
Unusually for me I was thinking ahead to the next day and to the long shuttle bus journey from Anchorage to Denali National Park where I was camping for a few days.At the time I didn't know anything about Bookcrossing .com and just saw the book and took it from a shelf containing quite a few other books, at the time I thought I was just stealing it.When I got on the bus my girlfriend said to me.. "Where'd you get that from?" and I said "from the hostel"...." you mean you stole it!?" just as she said this I opened the first page and saw the book crossing logo and the gist of it was processed by my brain with lightning speed ( again unusual for me) and for once in my life I was able to turn to her and say without a shadow of a doubt "that's what you're supposed to do with it dummy, it's a kind of book/loaning/karma type thing innit!" I don't think I put it quite so eloquently as that as I was so surprised to find myself in the right it was nearly all I could do to stop blurting out " bloody hell what's the chances of that happening" but I managed to keep my cool and belittle my girly in one fell swoop, it was the begining of a good day.
Anyway,I think it's safe to say that Bukowski is a dirty old man and in some respects I can identify with that and therefore his writing. If voyeurism and alcohol didn't exisist then neither would this book.
I going to leave it at the YHA hostel in Great Marlborough Street, London,W1 in the hope that someone else will enjoy it as much I as I enjoyed duping my other half into think I knew what I was doing.
She really should know better by now!
