This is not the sort of book you just sit down and read. Every now & then I like to pick a story or two out of this weighty tome, but I imagine it will be quite some time before I will have read the entire thing.

Our selections for the first meeting of the Tuesday Club Mysteries group were: "The Tell-Tale Heart" "The Murders in the Rue Morgue" "The Purloined Letter" I didn't get around to re-reading "Murders" but remembered it pretty well from high school. I'd also read "Letter" in high school, and I think "Heart" was in elementary school, which is a bizarre choice for small children, now that I think on it. Anyway, we had a great discussion about the stories and about Poe and the mystery world in general.

Last night I read "The Fall of the House of Usher" as part of my Do Nothing But Read Day. It also counts for the 1001 Books challenge. Loved all the gothic imagery.
