Journal Entry 7 by MyopicMeringue on Wednesday, January 5, 2005
Am just writing another journal entry, as I realise I've had the book longer than a month - sorry, folks! I've had a very busy time lately, but will try to get the book finished soon and send it on.

Journal Entry 8 by MyopicMeringue on Thursday, February 10, 2005
First, I'd like to apologise that I've had this book longer than two months.

Second, I'd like to say what a brilliant book it is - I was amazed at how it managed to be so humorous about such serious things, without undermining their seriousness. I loved how Dolores isn't your usual heroine - almost an anti-heroine, you might say, as she has none of the qualities you'd expect from a heroine - but somehow her honesty, humour and lack of self-pity make her likeable. I did think the ending was a bit rushed, and didn't do justice to the rest of the story, but other than that I was very impressed with this novel. The characters are very human and memorable.

In all, an unusual and interesting book, and I'm very glad to have had the opportunity to read it. Thanks so much, Brewster13 - I will be sending this on to flowergirl68 very soon.

Don't know where this has been, but it finally landed on my doorstep today. I shall make a start on it this week.

I have enjoyed reading this book immensely. I really felt myself being drawn into the story. I did find Dolores' character frustrating at times, and occasionally I just wanted to shake her. The other characters in the book are desribed with so much colour you can believe in them. As MM said - an unusual and memorable read.

Thanks brewster13 for the opportunity to read this.

Have pm'ed sheepseeker for their address.

What an amazing book! This has definately not been the book I expected but found it a great read. Thank's for sharing, brewster13.

I'll send the book on to ramya as soon as I get home from my holidays at the end of April...

Journal Entry 14 by Ramya from Plainsboro, New Jersey USA on Thursday, June 30, 2005
Sorry for the late journal entry! This arrived last week while I was away, and I'm only now getting through some piles of mail and discovering the pleasure of a book waiting for me. :-)

Since I'm last on the list of this ray, I'm not going to read it right away (several ring books are on my shelf right now), but never fear! I will read and release this -- it might be a good one to release at the Girl Scout National Council Meeting and Convention in October in Atlanta.

Thanks, Brewster13, for sharing this book, and Sheepseeker, for sending it on to me!

It took me a while to get into this book; its length daunted me. So I started to listen to it as an audio-book; about 1/2 way through, the narrative pulled me in, the audio-book pace became too slow, and I switched to reading the book. I found it to be a powerful story, well-told. And it finally got me passed the same too-long-of-a-book hump I had with Lamb's "I know this much is true", which had been sitting on my bookshelf for way too long.

I'm now sending "She's come undone" to a member of PaperbackSwap.com.

Are you sure you want to delete this item? It cannot be undone.
