Journal Entry 3 by Fleebo on Tuesday, January 11, 2005
Taken from the Children's and Teens' Bookbag.
I don't know this author, but I try to read as many Australian Children's Book of the Year authors as I can. This book is an honour book from the 1990 award.

I seem to be on a bit of an unhappy-teens-book kick at the moment. Like Fleebo I'd never read this author, but I'll be looking out for her now. Lara is a very real character and I really enjoyed her growth as she came to terms with her new life.

Journal Entry 5 by JPix from Southampton, Hampshire United Kingdom on Sunday, January 6, 2008
Picked up this book from the Tiffany's Cafe OBCZ while on holiday in Sydney. Really enjoying the story. I also like that it's set in Australia and mentions a couple of places I've visited while doing the tourist bit!

A great story - I particularly enjoyed that I could never guess what is gonna happen next (I mean I had my guesses, but the story just did not go exactly that way). Also liked the way Hathorn describes the Australian bush and the Blue Mountain area. Having been there a few times myself, I really could "see" what it looked like.
I caught the book on the way home from Australia (my fiancee and myself spent the Xmas Holidays over there) at the ladies restroom in Bangkok International Airport. I was pretty amazed by the idea, since I have never heard about Book Crossing before. I recently finished reading a book, and decided finally to make a journal entry here, and now I am thinking about releasing it somewhere. Maybe at one of our Gloria Jeans coffeeshops.
