Sheer magic. I read this book first when I was a kid. Finding it and reading it again brought back happy memories. Enchantment writ large!

My kids and I are looking forward to reading this because we all loved *Moominland Midwinter*.

Thank you so much for the postcard, too: I love the globe-like sculpture and the big gazebo!

Delightful! It's the most enjoyable Tove Jansson book I've read yet (the others being *Moominland Midwinter* and *The Summer Book*).

The Hemulen, Snufkin, and the Snork Maiden were the most endearing characters. I appreciated the Hemulen's botanizing, Snufkin's wanderlust, and the Snork Maiden's deep craving for beauty and affection.

The pictures were exquisite, with lots of tiny details like the cloud anchor on page 29. I referred to the map and the floor plan of Moominhouse often as I read!

The big party at the end was fabulous and heartwarming (especially the idea of Moominpappa's red punch).

I'm mailing this to a bookcrosser in Finland.

"Dappy hays!"

I've always loved Moomins. Have read all the books in Swedish.

This is such a gorgeous childrens book - and bigger children too! It's the first Moomin fairytale I've read. It's so gentle and flowing, think I'll look for more by this author such as those mentioned by journalers before me.

I know my granddaughter will enjoy this as a bedtime story.

Hmmm, either I'm just not good enough at character voices, or there weren't enough pictures to keep my granddaughter's attention, but after a few pages she wandered off to play with her Barbie dolls. :-/

So, in light of these events, I've decided to control-release it to my nephew's eldest daughter who is 11 years old. Hopefully she will be as amused as *this* big kid was!
