If you're a reader of Nick Hornby's fiction, you have to be aware of his passion for popular music - after all, the titles of his first two novels were inspired by Elvis Costello and Nirvana songs, respectively. This book of essays on songs and albums that have been meaningful to him at various times in his life was very enjoyable reading, and made me think about what songs I'd include in my own "songbook." It also made me think I'd love to just sit and talk with this guy - and if that's not an option, I'm looking for some Hornby-esque qualities in my next guy!

Sent to OneMorePage on 6/14/05 - I've obviously been slow to note that, but it hasn't been logged in yet anyway!

I am preparing a stack of books to release tomorrow and came across this one. Couldn't find it on my BC shelf - what happened! I NEVER JOURNALLED!! Bookcookie39, my humblest apologies to you. The book has been in my possession for ages and I have no idea why I did not journal it. Mr. OneMorePage and I both read and enjoyed the book very much and am now going to pass it on to another reader who, hopefully, pays closer attention to details!

Caught at our area OBCZ. I meant to take it to our gathering tonight, but it looks too good. Mom & I will have to read it first.

Good, but not as good as I'd hoped. Plan wild release back to the OBCZ in the morning.
