From the back cover:
"Ranulph Fiennes was sacked from the SAS for blowing up an American film set, then he became a mercenary in the Oman. He was shortlisted for the part of James Bond in a 007 film but was thought to be too young. Fiennes embarked on a career as an explorer travelling up the White Nile in a hovercraft, parachuting on to Europe's highest glacier, forcing his way along 4,000 miles of the tumltuous rivers of Canada and Alaska, overland to the North Pole, travelling to the ends of the earth across the world's axis. Ranulph Fiennes likes living dangerously..."

A fascinating story of Fiennes' life until the mid 80s. To be honest, I skimmed over some of his time in the SAS but I loved the story of his Axis expedition of the early 1980s and utterly admire his wife for sticking with him and his lifestyle for so long.
Kindly donated by perfect-circle for a special project.
