14 journalers for this copy...
Read this one in two days. I enjoy Elizabeth Berg's writing, the everyday details of life and the realness of her characters. This one is about how a woman begins to put her life back together after her husband leaves her.
Sending this out on a bookray for other Elizabeth Berg fans to read and enjoy. The order so far is...

I loved this book. I couldn't put it down and stayed up way past my bedtime to finish it last night.
The characters were so well written and I really felt for Sam. I think everyone that goes through a break-up needs a King in their life.
Have PM'd violetsforfurs for her address and send it on when I get it.
Thanks EDDI for this bookring.

Looks like this one was lost in the mail... :(
I have bought a new copy to continue the ray. I intend to start it this weekend.
Thank you flowergirl68!
I very much enjoyed reading this, and loved the eclectic mix of characters. I felt that the ending was a bit expected, but this didn't really mar my enjoyment.
Am waiting for greenideladie's address.

The book arrived today. The package was completely destroyed, but the book itself was safe and sound because of the bubble paper. I will edit this journal entry after I have finished the book. EDDI, where do you want the book to go next? I can send this anywhere you like. sp
Edited 10Jun05: This was the 3rd Elizabeth Berg book that I have read. I have liked all three. The book was an easy read and I really enjoyed it. I found that I related well to the main character, I could see bits of myself in Samantha. I am going to read more books by this author.

It's flowergirls's book, so it's up to her :)
I'll leave the decision in your hands, sp4home - wild release, pass to a friend, it's up to you...
This book will continue on as a bookray. I will keep the order of the bookring on this journal entry (in case there are any changes or additions). Please journal when the book arrives, and when you send it so that everyone can follow the book along (if they want to). Thanks!

Book arrived safely today. After reading and loving Never Change by the same author, I am happy for the opportunity to read another of her books. I will read it straight away, and have already contacted snowy652 for her address!
7/13/05 : WOW - what a wonderful book! I love Elizabeth Berg's style of writing - it's so clear and vividly descriptive. She draws the reader into the setting, and into an emotional connection with the protagonist. I related to Sam's feelings quite closely, and I loved the colorful secondary characters, especially Lydia and Thomas. I have a feeling this story, and Samantha, will stick with me long after I've passed the book along and moved onto other reading material.
Thanks so much for sharing this book with me.

I very much enjoyed this book. It was rather a quick read and the story-line held my interest throughout. One of the better books I have read as of late. I think I may check out more of Elizabeth Berg and see if her other works are as good as this one was.
I have been attempting to make contact with the next in line for a few days now -- I will send off when I have an address to send it too.
made contact -- sent on August 5th to next in line

Wow! Great to see where this book has travelled!
A tale of divorce and the makings of real love. Sam Morrow is forced to face who she is and what she really wants when her husband walks out. She embarrasses herself along the way, clinging to him and to her early memories and her need for companionship, even the limited kind of companionship he offered. Little by little we watch her pick herself up, only to slip and then try to get back on track again.
Sometimes I found it hard to accept her dependency, her absolute need. I cringed at the vision of her self-debasement. Sometimes I didn't want her future to be as bright as it appeared, as if I felt she didn't really deserve it. These were my own mean-spirited musings, though, because my life has never had a real love in it.
Nicely written, with some very funny passages and good images.
