Wow! Five books have arrived in 5 days! Obviously the public holidays have caught Aus Post off guard! Alas I am buried in the middle of a ring and now have to decide which to start on next... if there is a problem taking 'a little time' with these, please let me know tantan and I will escalate straight to the top of the pile!

I will keep you and the other ringers up to date on my progress.

Thanks for sending these along, its delicious to know these are waiting for me... especially now that is starting to get cold, brrrr!

I have made it nearly half way through this book - and so far I have been really enjoying it (it took a while to get in to).

HOWEVER... I have just bought my own little apartment (finally) and I am facing a huge battle of packing & culling my mountains of stuff. I'd hate to lose these books in transit, so rather than hang on to them or lose them, I was hoping to move them along to Pixette where they will be safe.

If possible, I'd love to be put back on the end of the list to finish reading these after everyone else is done, and when I will be finally settled in!?

I've PM'd pixette for her details - will send these as soon as I have them.

Apologies for not finishing, but its just been a crazy ol time!

Update 13th June - I've just heard from Pixette and she is delighted to take on Claudius, so I will get these off in the post to her this week. Many thanks to her and Tantan for accommodating me!

This arrived with the sequal "Claudius the God" as a bookring.

I have previously read "I, Claudius" so will pass on re-reading.

I watched the television series of these when I was in high school, studying ancient history. Claudius' wife Despina was always my favourite.

I am really looking forward to reading these - and it's another Tan Tan bookring too (she really does have fantastic bookrings, even if I don't have the time to read them).

RELEASE NOTES:

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was like visiting a old friend. The details and research that must have gone into it is incredible.

But, sadly my school holidays have come to an end, so I will not be reading 'Claudius the god'. Another time perhaps.

I haven't been able to contact miss-gonwest and have had this book far too long, so returning it to Tantan.

I don't think I finished reading it, but life has taken some twists and turns, and if I don't send it back now, along with it's companion Claudius the God, a few more years may go by.

Hopefully sometime I will get to read them both, I'm really interested in the subject matter, and the author.
