This is one of the first books that would come to mind when I'm listing down my favourites. And I won't be surprised if many others do the same as well. Although to this day, I'm not sure whether it was the hero who was proud and the heroine prejudiced, or the hero prejudiced and the heroine proud... Maybe a bit of both. ;) You will like Elizabeth and Darcy, and even laugh a bit at the way Jane Austen describes some of the characters and the way they think and act. Here's a conversation between Elizabeth and Darcy in a ballroom quite early in their acquaintance: 'Are you consulting your own feelings in the present case, or do you imagine that you are gratifying mine?' 'Both,' replied Elizabeth archly; 'for I have always seen a great similarity in the turn of our minds. - We are each of an unsocial, taciturn disposition, unwilling to speak, unless we expect to say something that will amaze the whole room, and be handed down to posterity with all the eclat of a proverb.' Bought specifically for release in Taman Budaya on Saturday night during the "Brigadoon" premier performance. Congratulations for finding the book! Hope you'll enjoy the book and pass it on to others to read as well.
