The Time Traveler's Wife (Harvest Book)
7 journalers for this copy...
From the back cover:
"A most untraditional love story, this is the celebrated tale of Henry DeTamble, a dashing, adventuresome librarian who involuntarily travels through time, and Clare Abshire, an artist whose life takes a natural sequential course. Henry and Clare's passionate love affair endures across a sea of time and captures then in an impossibly romantic trap that tests the strength of fate and basks in the bonds of love."

I bought my own copy of The Time Traveler's Wife, after hearing great things about it on bookcrossing. It's an excellent story, and the writing is great. It wasn't, however, what I expected after reading others' comments. Don't get me wrong -- it's a great book, and one of the best ones I've read in awhile. However, I can't really tell you the (minor) issues I have with the book without revealing too much of the book. The book is definitely worth sharing, so I'm starting a Bookring for this book.
What are the Bookring guidelines?
1) Please make a journal entry when you receive the book.
2) Please read the book within 4 weeks of receiving the book.
3) When you are finished reading the book, post a journal entry.
4) PM the next person on the list, telling them the book is now available and asking for their address.
5) If that person doesn't respond, try again. If no response after 10 days, move on to the next person on the list. Also, PM me so I can adjust the list. (Do the same thing if the person you PM says they aren't ready for the book now.)
6) Mail the book. :)
7) And if you have any questions or need to make adjustments to the timeline, PM me.
Here's the shipping order:
1) dufffy -- CT, USA
2) stinalyn -- WI, USA
3) GrammarBroad -- LA, USA
4) Ben-Nevis -- Germany
5) lilsher -- TN, USA
6) Pyan -- WI, USA
7) BigJohnLefty -- IA, USA
... and back to Ann32 in AK, USA
Happy reading!

A great book. I really enjoyed reading it. I have read some books about time travelling, but this one is totally different. I liked the idea to see time travelling as a sort of deseas, all people involed would like it to stop from happening but can’t do anything about it. Many timetravelers have experienced the problem, that traveling backwards, they can change things that implicate changes in present. The author solves this problem in an unexpexted way; Henry can not change anything in the past.
What I liked about the book is the consistency. Some threads are started and kept open for quite a while, that eventually everything falls into place.

Received this book today -- why oh why would you send me a ring without checking with me first?!
I don't want this book now; I received a RABCK of it a long time ago. People should not send rings or boxes or anything else out without checking with the person first.
I'll PM the next person in line and send it on it's way, but I wish I'd been contacted so I could have declined and saved the postage.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I don't know what happened to this one, but have decided to make release notes on it because the stats on my bookshelf are a bit skewed in the wake of all this....Here's the story: my former girlfriend MissWatt hit a patch of ice and flipped her truck and died instantly on February 9, 2010; this occurred a scant week after the suicide of my son.So I wasn't in any kind of shape to track down the many books of mine that were still in her house - I have no idea what happened to them. Right now, more than a year later, I've managed to look through the boxes of books in my house and ascertain somewhat which ones disappeared into a black hole...... they my have been gathered up to be sold at garage sales or donated to charities, or maybe even (God forbid!) thrown in the trash.
But if you happen to receive this book somehow, be respectful of its history and journal it.
Please.
