pretty decent intro to a series which i decided to reread about two years ago. the characterization of the dwarves is a little hobbit-like and other parts sound a little generic, but there's enough creativity and suspense to make it worth reading. good for the morning commute b/c it's easy to pick up and get into, but not too hard to drop. i like the premise that the first four books are set in diff worlds that only interact in the last 3 books, although in reality the last three books didn't fulfill the series' promise. still, it's an ambitious and oftentimes entertaining series.
This made it here in today's mail.
Thank you for offering me a chance to reread this as it has been years since I read the first four books (I think when the series first came out actually). There are a few books in front of this one however, so I may take a bit to read it.
Oh, also the cd made it through the mail just fine. It's a great mix of music. Thanks

This was found hiding in my PC books
This may be accidentally traveling...
I had it this morning on the bus, and at the start of my first class of the day I placed it in my book bag. when I got on the bus this afternoon to go home it wasn't there. I vaguely remember pulling it out to get sketchbooks out during the course of the day so It might be in a studio or it might be somewhere in the fitness center. I will check lost and found when on campus next.
I'm leaving a note here just in case someone finds it and journals it before I get to look for it. Shame it's MIA as I was enjoying rereading it.

Found! This book spent the night in a drawer at the Northeastern Illinois University Phys Ed buildings entrance desk. To continue reading next week while commuting.
This was a revisit to this series. I had read this when it first came out. So, I remembered some of the plot but not enough to make it predictable.
I loved the idea behind this series, two races at war with each other, a universe that has been separated into different worlds and the beings that populate the world with their own conflicts.
That said it took me a bit to get into this book. Perhaps because it was a reread...
Thanks for sharing this all those years ago.
I will have to look for my copy of Elven Star which was packed up recently.
