Review from Amazon.com:
Like a fizzy cocktail, Jewell's follow-up to her bestselling Ralph's Party is quickly consumed and sometimes dizzying. Set in posh London, the plot adheres to the When Harry Met Sally formula of romantic comedyAtwo characters are unaware of their love for each other. Naturally, readers witness a string of calamities eventually resulting in a happy-ever-after ending.
Dig Ryan and Nadine Kite, best friends for 15 years, have exhausted the dating market. Dig, who works for a small record label, wakes up on his 30th birthday with a 17-year-old girl in his bed, and suddenly feels old. He and Nadine, a 30-year-old freelance photographer, resolve to stop living as serial monogamists and find love with mature adults (to become, as Bridget Jones might say, Smug Marrieds).
When Dig bumps into Delilah, the most beautiful girl in Holy Trinity high school and his first love, he thinks he may be lucky at last. Nadine is anything but happy at the reappearance, since Delilah, who has come to London without her husband, stole Dig from her once before. Meanwhile, Nadine has contacted her first love, Phil, who's even more of a jerk now than he was a decade ago, except now he's an ex-con, too. Of course, the appealing couple known as Dig 'n' Deen finds its way out of this tangle before the novel's candied close.
Jewell's keen observation of British pop culture is perhaps the best attribute of a book that is fun but never quite intoxicating, and which is burdened by an unimaginative cover.

Just got this in the mail, thanks! I got back from a long weekend earlier than expected, so I think I'm going to settle in on the couch with this all day today.
FYI, I think I would like the cover of this book better if it didn't have these photos of those people on it.

What a cute book! Bits of it actually did make me laugh out loud, which I didn't expect, and I'm glad I didn't read this amazon review posted here too closely since it gives away more than the book jacket does and I was happy to be surprised by those little plot points. Definitely a quick, enjoyable read. I now recall rejecting another Lisa Jewell book in the past since I disliked the cover art of that one, too, but now I'll definitely be giving her another chance.... so much for judging a book by its cover and all that, I suppose.

This arrived today - it looks great! Thanks for letting me participate in this bookring. I'll be sure to post my thoughts on it. :)
I started THIRTY NOTHING and should be finished with it by the end of this week. I will go ahead and PM the next bookcrosser on the list for their mailing address. I'll make another journal when I've finished the book.
I really enjoyed this book! It was funny and heartwarming - great chick lit. Thanks for letting me participate in the bookring. I'm putting this in the mail today to portable-solace.
I just received this in the mail today and will start it right away!
This was the second book I've read from Lisa Jewell, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first! It took a little while to get into, but once I hit the middle, I had trouble putting it down! Thanks for sharing!
Mailed to Flakes on 11/20!

Arrived today! I've got one ring ahead of it, but I'm on vacation for the next two weeks and should be able to send it on its way quickly. Thanks for sharing this one, jennytsk!
This was a cute, fun read. I knew how it was going to end, but it was still fun to root for Dig and Nadine anyway!:)
Sent airmail to EM64 today...enjoy! :)
The book arrived today in the mail at the same time with another bookring book. Thanks, Flakes!
Boy meets a girl and... wait, they have already met and are best friends. Actually they are more than best friends but they just don't know it yet. So the book tells about how they realise this. The book was ok and I kind of liked it. But this Phil character that pops up from her past is way too much; he was just far too horrible that it would have been credible - I mean she should have been a complete idiot not to see it. And of course there is a girl in his past too that appears too. She was more credible but at the same time she was a total cliché, she was just too predictable. But all in one it was a very entertaining reading.
Will be sending it to JenVince once I'll have the address.

Sent today to jenvince. Happy Reading!
Has arrived safely in California. I look forward to reading this one. I do have 3 bookrings/rays ahead of it, so will get to this book as soon as I can.
I liked Ralph's Party a lot, so was glad to be able to read another book by Lisa Jewell. I picked up really quickly where this book was heading, but it did not deter from the story. There were a lot of funny lines in this book!!
I was also looking forward to reading this because I am turning 30 in March and am a little like, "Eek!" hee hee The best part was the end of Chapter 1 which says, "Thirty wasn't so bad. Yeah. Thirty was fine. Actually, it wasn't that different from twenty-nine." Whew! LOL! :)
This is in the mail 2/2.

Back to me :)
got it yesterday through a relay. I've read Ralph's Party and really liked it, so I'm looking forward to this! Thanks!
This was pretty good, although I liked Ralph's Party better. That Phil guy was seriously disgusting....yikes. You do sort of feel like it's so obvious that Dig and Nadine should be together, and it's a little annoying that they go through so many shenanegans to get there, but I guess there wouldn't be a story otherwise. :) I'm sending this to KarinAlyssa via a relay.
And the cover art really does suck.

Received today from BugandBean. There are a lot of entries and like most of them, I don't find the cover interesting. Thank you for sharing it on BookRelay, I better prepare my thirties when I'm not even twenty !

This was a light read perfect just before studying for my finals ! It was predictable, but there was always something more making me wonder what would happen in the next 5 pages although I knew the ending at the beginning even if I believe in those kind of friendships !
I haven't read Ralph's Party, but it's going on my wishlist because Lisa Jewell's style was really interesting and although Delilah was a bit flat, the other characters were alive especially Nadine and Dig which is normal considering that they made the book just by being there.
Thanks BugAndBean for sharing ! This book will continue its travels to Wien, Austria soon !
