Black Beauty (Penguin Popular Classics)

I heard so much about this wonderful story that I had to buy this book as it was cheap.
This book is a classic and was a kind of revolution back in 1877 when it was first published.
The noble-hearted horsse called Black Beauty (by his first owner) tells his story of belonging to different people with different attitudes to their horses - good ones and others.
I'm not so sure - it was sure a very progressive plot back in the 19th century, but for myself I don't like stories where the teller is the best of all and not many can keep up with him. Black Beauty is infailabe - in his eyes - and I have to admit that is not the kind of storytelling I prefer.
