I really enjoyed this book. I love Richard Russo's ability to describe the lives of people who are just people. Living their lives, struggling like the rest of us, and not really different from the rest of us. That such simple ideas became such an engrossing book is testament to his amazing writing ability.

I plan to start a bookring for this copy.

The book arrived today! Thank you, batty14! I just finished the book I was reading and will dive into Empire Falls tonight.

What a wonderful book! Thank you for the opportunity to read Empire Falls. It's one of those books I kept skipping over at the bookstore despite friends' recommendations and this bookring was a good excuse to give it a try.

I got it out in the mail this morning to pixalu and it should arrive in her hands shortly.

I am so satisfied! I just finished this and devoured it over a week. It's taken me over a year to start this, and here I'm sad it's done.

The characters, the story, the setting. I loved all of it, and will definitely read more of Russo's work.
