The Stepford Wives
15 journalers for this copy...
I bought this book in May but finally got around to reading it last week. It was great! I loved how there were still questions to be answered at the end because I hate when authors feel the need to leave things nice and tidy by the last page. Life isn't all nice and neat so why should a book be?

I just received in today's mail. I will read shortly and send on its way. susan
I just finished the book and will be mailing on to Germany in a couple of days.
I like the book and that it was like the first movie (I have not seen the second movie), but I did not think the book was as suspensful as the movie. While reading it kept thinking of the book Sink Reflections and Marla of Flylady.net and decide that they are definitely from Stepford, well maybe not as pretty.
Got here today - thanks sgscarcliff. TBR soon (as it's quite a thin book...)
Just finished reading the book, and, although I've never seen either of the films, I found it a bit boring. I didn't know how it was going to end, but I found the robot-idea a bit far-fetched. Not my kind of book...
Thank you ! I received it this morning and it was right the best moment because this day really began the worst way...
I promise to finish it rapidly.
If you don't know the story, which was my situation, DO NOT read the introduction by Peter Straub...
I really liked this book and even felt a little uncomfortable while reading it. And I love being shaken and thrilled by a book. But I think that the end is very disappointing because too elliptic.
1st of december : posted it this morning
I actually really enjoyed this! It's pretty thin and I managed to read it in about an hour. It works on a lot of levels, and I found it quite funny in a lot of parts, maybe it's just my warped sense of humour. Anyway, should be sent to the next person within the next couple of days.
Received today, thank you. It looks quite thin so I should be able to read it quite quickly.
I read this in one sitting, it was quite easy to get into once you started and it was so short I was finished within my lunch break. I wasn't quite expecting it to end the way it did, I'm not sure why. It's not my usual read but I still found it quite enjoyable. I'll be sending it along to the next person as soon as I receive an address.

Ok book now read. Like everyone else the shortness of the book was appealing as it allowed me to get it finished really quickly. Only thing I didn't like so much about the book was the ending (sorry I just like mine tied up all nice and neat at the end with a bow so there can be no doubt about the ending). But it was an enjoyable read. I will PM tabyorky for address and send it on its way.

On its way to tabyorky. Enjoy!
Received in the post today. Will put in my TBR pile and pass on as soon as possible to the next person.
Started reading this book.
I thought this book was ok and it was a quick read. Not seen the film but heard the film is good so thought I would read the book. Now I have read the book, do not think I would be in a hurry to watch the film.
Sent a PM to kirlepigen but said they have too many books to read so I have sent a Pm to the next person and waiting for their address now.
Posted the book to teenage-faerie.
i liked this one. i hadnt seen any of the movies so reading the introduction did give it away for me. :-( the ending surprised me...

mailed today!
Got it!! I have one book ahead of it, but will get to it asap.
(I think it's been sitting in my mailbox for at least a week, but I was out of town for a few days)
A very quick read, and an enjoyable one. I sorta remember the original movie with Katherine Ross (or so my husband tells me) and Paula Prentiss. I think I'll put the "new" version on my list of movies to rent!
6/27 No response to 2 PMs to greenfrog, moving down the list to jag624
received in the mail a few days ago...I am surprised how short this book is. I will read it soon!
A quick read. I've never seen the movies but I knew what the story was about. I didn't know the ending though and wished it ended different. I didn't know there was the small Disneyland reference in it-big fan of the theme parks.
Thank you for starting this ring kab113. I saw the remake of the movie, but not the original. I look forward to reading the book.
I enjoyed this quick read told in a straightforward manner. I thought a more exciting ending was chosen for the movie version, but that ending wouldn't have played out as well in a book, so the book ending is probably better for the book and the movie ending for the movie. I am not a big sci-fi fan, so I was glad the author did't delve too deeply into high tech explanatios and focused on the people and what was happening with them.
I was at Half Priced Books and picked up "Rosemary's Baby" which is also by this author. I saw the movie version of that but don't remember it well so I am looking forward to reading that now that I have read "Stepford Wives."
