Journal Entry 1 by Martie-Kr from Mentor, Ohio USA on Tuesday, August 17, 2004
This is another Annie Darling mystery. She owns the Death on Demand bookstore. I thought this was an okay read. A little too drawn out and I became somewhat impatient to get on with it. Annie is a bit of a hot head who manages to get herself in trouble quite frequently with the local law enforcement. Her husband must be a saint. In this one, Annie is persuaded to be an author liason for five mystery writers who are to receive a prestigous award. Kenneth Hazlitt turns up at the affair planning to hawk a "tell all" sort of book he's planning to publish about the group and ends up murdered. Annie comes under suspicion of murder because of her loud confrontation with the deceased just before he dies. As the evidence continues to mount against Annie, her and her husband Max try to find the book proposal and clear her name.....
