10 out of 10

I've never read this book before but teachers did read this book to us when I was on a second grade. That's why I've always wanted to read this and so I bought this from the book sale.

Eventhough I've registered this book as a children's book I think that this is a very good book for adults, too. It's very mature and philosophic but not too much, otherwise it wouldn't be a children's book ;) It has also very interesting and amusing scheme what makes you think at the same time. Every book isn't as good as this!

"The Little Prince is a classic tale of equal appeal to children and adults. On one level it is the story of an airman's discovery in the desert of a small boy from another planet - the Little Prince of the title - and his stories of intergalactic travel, while on the other hand it is a thought-provoking allegory of the human condition." (from the back cover)

Once I've read this book it will delight people all over the world as a bookray!

Update 19th September 2004

Now I've read the book and I must say, that it touched me somehow. It's an interesting journey from a planet to another, but also a very sad description of a man of the 1940s. And think where we are now...

The story was a bit different than what I have thought, and I was a bit confused in the beginning. I didn't know that there would be the author himself in the story, but when I think it, it fits in the story very well. The end of the book is among the saddest pieces of literature I've ever read. Mr. Saint-Exupéry was a very wise man!

The list is now empty and I'm waiting for BX'ers to join my bookray! :D

Update the 24th October 2004

The list is short :( but here it is!

1. Me = YuCCa3, Savonlinna FINLAND
2. paulainen, Helsinki FINLAND

I don't mind at all if you give this book to somebody, who's not in the list, but I hope, that you would inform me about these new participants. And on more thing, I don't want that this book will be released in the wild EVER!!! That's all, enjoy this book! I gave the book to paulainen yesterday!

I got his book yesterday from my little brother YuCCa3, whom I graciously thank, and I will hopefully start reading it soon; luckily it is fairly antithick! ;)

I read the book yesterday while sitting in the train or waiting for lectures to start so it goes without saying that the book is not an insurmountable obstacle for anyone. :)

I have only heard the extract where the fox and litle prince are discussing and the book was something else than I expected it to be. It was sad and full of longing but I also spotted glimpses of joy. I would not either place this book only under the category of children's book for it is enjoyable for adults as well.

All in all I liked the book in all its naivite and maybe one day I will be reading it to my very own children as well.

I sent the book today to q-cow, safe traveling! :D

Such a cute book. And the drawings are great. "Its a hat."

A new way to look at the world.

I've asked WildGirlJessica for her address.
