Bought this at Hong Kong airport. It took me a long time to read it, and several times I was tempted to quit reading it. I guess this was mainly due to the cultural differences. I found it really hard to get to understand the main character. The Chinese society and culture is very different from what I am used to. I don't know how much of this was due to the translation. It seemed to me that the translation was to literal and therefore to hard to read for westerners.
What won me over in the end was the continous stream of new little stories. Also after about half the book, around chapter 52 some of the confusion was taken away for me with the different characters.
It was a bit of a challenge to read, and I am still not sure if it was worth the trouble.
The book is now off to Luitarien as part of a bookrelay.
Sorry it took me so long to get it read and out to you.
