Thank you! I have been looking forward to reading this one. I tried it a few years ago and never got to finish it because my life was hectic. Thank you!

This was a really good book. I did, however, see how writing it must have been a way of healing for the author. I have read "Lucky", the memoir of the author. In this book there are just little ways of control that I could see the author putting into the book that related to her true life story. I thought the ending came a little quickly, too. Overall, though, it was a good read. I am sending this to sp4home to revive her lost bookring.

Woohoo, I just found this my office mail box! Sorry for the delay - it probably arrived last week but I was working off-campus as it was a non-teaching week here. Anyway, I will start it after work today, and I'll be sure to read it as quickly as possible so that this ring can get a move-on!

What a lovely book... very touching, evocative, and extraordinary storytelling.

The market seems to have been saturated with books on this particular theme, but I found that the writer's approach in this case (the narrator telling the story from such an unusual perspective) made for a unique reading experience. I also enjoyed the way parts of the story were fragmented: a paragraph or piece of the novel would seem to stand on its own until later fragments joined the piece with the rest of the story. I wondered if this was symbolic of the narrator's physical fragmentation of body and metaphorical process of becoming whole?

Definitely worth reading.

Off it goes to the UK to visit with dodau...

I don't quite know what I was expecting from this. For a start when the blurb said child I didn'e expect a 14 year old. And I didn't expect it to take place over such a long period. As others as mentioned it seems to end very suddenly and I didn't think the part about her murderer tied it up very neatly. Worth reading though.

I got it! I have it with for a while now and only today did I notice that I didn't do a JE. I am really sorry...

I didn't like very much though. I read Liars and Saints and enjoyed it. But this one no: it was a bit strange to read things about heaven...

Well, Sp4home I'm PMing you to get your address and send it back home.
Thanks for sharing.
