Synopsis from Amazon:
This extraordinary, magical novel is the story of Clare and Henry who have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was thirty-six, and were married when Clare was twenty-two and Henry thirty. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself pulled suddenly into his past or future. His disappearances are spontaneous and his experiences are alternately harrowing and amusing. The Time Traveler's Wife depicts the effects of time travel on Henry and Clare's passionate love for each other with grace and humour. Their struggle to lead normal lives in the face of a force they can neither prevent nor control is intensely moving and entirely unforgettable.

I was very dubious about it, when I finally picked up this book. Very often, when I start reading a highly praised and bestselling book, I find it utterly indigestible and throw it in a corner after 70-odd pages. Plus my mum didn't like it and thought the language was childish. So yet again a book that I tackled with very low expectations.

And lo and behold - What a great book, I loved it! I finished it last night, after coming back from a party. Imagine slightly drunk woman, crying her eyes out at 3 in the morning. My only complaint - I thought the ending was given away much too early in the book and that ruined my enjoyment a little. I knew what was coming and that is rarely good. But still, fantastic story. I thought the time travelling would be too weird and too interruptive of a smooth story flow. But not a all. It was well done, felt very natural and opened up the door to some great opportunities for the plot. Good one, more please!

Do not read the reviews on Amazon.co.uk, there are some plot spoilers...

Going to Daysleeper79 in Argentinia for my Lifetime Release Challenge. Already had it packed up for the post office, when my friend Anne asked, if she could read it first, so Daysleeper79 has to wait another 1 or 2 weeks...
