How would history have changed if Robert E. Lee's Special Order 191, wrapped around 3 cigars and lost by a Confederate courier, had been delivered as intended instead of being discovered by Union forces in 1862? Harry Turtledove does a masterful job of answering that question in this gripping alternate history novel.
