The back says:

"A budding stand-up comic, Juno is voloptuous, hedonistic, funny and terminally untidy. On her thirtieth birthday, she decides to have a wild one-night stand to mark the occasion. But seducing her new flatmate before he's had a chance to unpack his belongings is not a wise move. Just over from New York, Jay Mulligan is intense, mysterious and, as Juno joyously discovers, far better than breakfast in bed. It's only when they both get out of that bed on the wrong side three days later that the problems start... "

Praise for 'Snap Happy and for Fiona Walker's previous bestsellers, 'French Relations', 'Kiss Chase' and 'Well Groomed':

'Think Jilly Cooper but younger, trendier and much better ... a very funny and entertaining book that'll keep you amused' MINX

'A good, fat summer read' SUNDAY MIRROR

'An enthusiastic romp ... filled with handsome men, gorgeous girls and hanky panky' THE EXPRESS

And my own comment:

I really loved this one! And I wouldn't have thought so. The message on the back sounded a bit, well, cheap to me. But as soon as I started reading, I simply couldn't put the book away. It cost me some sleep the previous few days...
The main character Juno Glenn almost developed like she was a friend of mine: every time when things got a bit tough for her (a lot of times that is), I got really angry.
Of course the whole story is all about: will he love her or won't he. (And I'm not telling anything) But it's so incredibly funny! I found myself laughing out loud every other page.

Some citations that I hope give a bit of an idea of the humour in Snap Happy:

Judy ushered them through to the dining hall. 'I've been testing things out on him. Tonight's menu is his favourite, so blame him if you hate it. Now, Triona - you're on Howard's left, I'm on his right, and Jay and Juno are here.' She pointed to two chairs facing one another several feet away from the trinity at the top of the table.
Juno caught her mother's eye. Judy couldn't have made the paring more obvious if she'd suggested they take a tray up to the spare bedroom together.

*****

Suddenly the room was filled with eerie music floating out of the overhead speakers which fed through from the hi-tech stereo system in the sitting room. It was more Jesus and Mary Chain than Jesus College, and seemed to consist largely of a tooting longhorn and the clattering of dustbin lids against small animals.
'Found this glorious recording of Norse anthems.' Howard wandered through. 'A chap I know has been researching ancient northern European music for his doctorate. Sent me this tape last week. It's recondite but not inaccessible, I think.'
They sat down to what sounded like the noise of a cow in labour.

I have the absolute intention to read everything else that Fiona Walker has written.

I'm going to reward this one with a nine, because the book has almost everything I want in a good read: it's funny, exciting, romantic, the characters are very well drawn and last but not least: the book counts almost 600 pages.

In a while the book will go to Annet74

I received this book in the mail about a week ago (Thanks!), but haven't had time to read it yet. Looks like a fun, uplifting, cheerful kind of book. Will take it with me on vacation in a few weeks!
