What a beautiful book this is. It is the first time I approach a novel by Alice Munro and, even if I generally avoid stories I have to admit I really enjoyed these. The characters are surprisingly convincing, always real, and Munro shows a great ability in managing with all sorts of personalities and characters: men, women, children, elder people...
Then, she writes beautifully. Her writing wraps you, so that you feel immersed into the story... What else can I say to mean I find Munro a brilliant writer ?
Thanks Merinda for offering the book on bookrelay, I would never have read it otherwise.
Now I will ship the book to nina-ivanovna asap.
Happy reading!

Received! Apparently this book took a little detour at the post office, as it arrived in a plastic bag for damaged parcels. Happily, although the wrapping was ripped, the book inside was fine. Looking forward to reading it.
This was the first book by Alice Munro that I've read and I loved it. Munro is a phenomenal writer. I was amazed at her ability to create such rich and subtle stories. Even the most minor characters seem vibrant and real. Looking forward to reading more by Munro very soon. Thanks for sharing it with me.
