The Kalahari Typing School for Men (No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency)
2 journalers for this copy...
I read the first three books in this series, which were just delightful and fun reads. Got this one to keep up with the series, though I'm sure it would be good without having read the rest. This is the only series that I've managed to read all the books. Okay, maybe I read all the Nancy Drew books in order as a kid...
Once again, Alexander McCall Smith has produced another clever and refreshing story of Precious Ramotswe and her assistant, Mma Makutsi (who we find out is named Grace). I just loved how the Kalahari Typing School for Men is born...but I won't ruin that for you. Here is a passage particularly dear to my heart:
"You don't have to read a book to understand how the world works," Mma Potokwani continued. "You just have to keep your eyes open."
"That's true," agreed Mma Ramotswe. But she had her reservations about Mma Potokwani's assertions. She had a great deal of respect for books herself, and she wished that she had read more. One could never read enough. Never."
