Thin book, should be easy to read. From the back of the book: A shocking tale of marriage destroyed by doubt... of a closely knit family ravaged by jealousy and suspicion. A book closely reminiscent of Rosemary's Baby though it doesn't deal with witches, merely strange people... a novel which starts out as a love story soon becomes a nightmare for those closely involved. There's not a dull moment in this... shocking tale of evil family ties by a psychologically perceptive writer who knows how to build up to a searing, multi-twist ending the way a tornado gathers momentum. It's undiluted horror. Started: 7/27/08 Incredibly, I've had this book for ions. Don't remember where or when I purchased it, but I think it was a garage sale find. Probably have had it in my possesion since, what? high school? The pages are extremley yellowed and I thought, oh, why bother? But, truth be told, Craig Jones' writing completely lured me in. I'm only partway through the book, but so far, it's very entertaining and holds my interest far more than I anticipated. Finished: 8/7/08 This is one of those books you can't judge by it's cover, because truthfully, it doesn't look like much on the outside, but once opened it really surprised me. The main character of the book is narrating: she's level-headed, college educated, used to getting her way. What happens is unspeakable (and it would be a spoiler), don't give up on this one... it has a surprise twist. Text from page 212 that I wanted to remember: "The wheels of justice move through verbal muck, advancing one day and sticking the next, while the people in charge argue over whether to push or pull."
