John Irving is one of my favorites authors, I like the way he builds many nice little stories around the big one.
As this is one of my favorites I would like to keep some sort of contact and will try it with a book ring.

In the time before bookrossing I used to put my address in some books, so that I remember where I lived at the time I read the book. When I give away the book I have to put this information down here.
It was 6/2002
Muensterst 46

Friday this book was brought to my door for the first time, unfortunately I wasn't home and only found a note that it would be offered again on Saturday. It never was and I began to fear that it would be lost somehow, but today it was finally there when I came home!

I am really looking forward to get into this book. Last week I encountered a copy in the second-hand store and couldn't refrain from taking a sneak preview; I liked what I saw.
I will report again when I have finished the book.

Although I dug in eagerly it took me a while to finish this book, but it was a good read.
I love the way Irving has woven his story around actual stories that made the news. He shows the world behind the headlines of the news, that often reduce people to the sensational events that they were part of.
This was the second book by Irving that I have read and I definitely like to read more of his work.

This postcard came, unintentionally, with the book. Ben-Nevis didn't need it back so I proposed to make it a bookmark for this ray. I gave it a blank flipside so all in this ray can leave a message for the readers to come. A little journal of where the book has travelled.
It will now go on its way to Youdid in Germany.

The book arrived savely and intact. I'm looking forward to reading it, though I'm pretty busy at the moment and as it is in English it will take me a bit longer than usual to finish it. Promise to hurry up.
Thank you eMeRes for re-designing the Stan-and-Olli-Postcard into a "bookmark-ray", nice idea.

Couldn't really get into the book as I'd not enough time for reading - moving house and refurbishing is at first place at the moment. So it's better to pass it on to buchsuch and perhaps give it a second try when you all have finished it. Thank you again for your patience, sorry I can't give a qualified comment. PMed buchsuch for the adress.

Greets youdid

Quite a good book! I wonder how the author got the idea about this left hand business. Really weird. And a beautiful love story.
I have sent the book to quico a few days ago.

A strange and unexpected love story, a bitter portrait of the news world and a funny read. Thank's for sharing, Ben-Nevis.
PMed adah-price: no answer.
Pmed PrairieFirefly for the address.

This just arrived! I will look forward to delving into it soon (only one and a half books ahead of it). I love Irving's style, and have been looking forward to reading this one for some time. After I am finished, I will try adah price to see if we can't pop her back into the ray....

I am generally very fond of Irving's books, but unfortunately did not really take to this one. I can't figure out if it was not bizarre enough or not real enough for me? I normally take to the characters in Irving's books, but I didn't in this one, and I think that really impacted by overall enjoyment of the book.

I'll PM adah price and hopefully get this book back on its journey soon...
