This is the spell binding first volume in a trilogy that will cover the whole cycle of Arthurian legends, interwoven with a story set in medieval times.

I haven't read it but that's the description on the back!

I found a wild book!!! Spotted this lying on a table outside the English Department at Canterbury University this afternoon, and noticing it had a BCID written on the edge of the pages, immediately grabbed it. Only my 4th wild catch in the several years I've been bookcrossing, so very exciting!

I wonder where it's been for the last couple of years?

P.S. Hi mecka-antics! How's Auckland treating you? Will we be seeing you at the Wellington convention?

A very odd book. Kind of stilted, and a bit obvious in places, and takes a long time to get into the story. The author was obviously writing with a trilogy in mind, because the structure just doesn't work as a one-off - after the long slow build-up, the climax wasn't all that climactic.

A pity, really, because the basic storyline was interesting (a boy in the late 12th century has visions of and seems to be reliving the Arthurian legends), but the overall effect just wasn't good enough for me to be bothered seeking out the rest of the trilogy.
