I Heard the Owl Call My Name

A very moving and inspirational book.
I read it years ago and was impressed. I found this copy at a garage sale (ex library book) and reread it and am still impressed.
"Mark Brian, a young Anglican Priest who has not long to live, is sent to the Indian Village of Kingcome in the wilds of British Columbia.
While sharing the hunting and fishing, the festivals and funerals, the joys and sorrows of a once proud tribe, Mark learns enough of life to be ready to die.
On a cold winter evening, when he hears the owl call his name, Mark understands what is to come . . . "

i didn't get the opportunity to read this, and it was promised a while ago on the relays, so off it goes!
Got this in the mail today. Thank you, weeblet!
I can't even decide why I enjoyed this so much. I think it was the humble nature of the priest and the wisdom of his bishop, but it could also have been the beauty of the setting and the simplicity of life lived in isolation on the very edge of the world. Well worth reading. Fleebo, when you're done with this may I lend it to my mother?
A beautiful book. My eyes were almost too teary to see the last page. Thanks.
Both my parents read this and loved it, but since they're on dialup I can never convince them to journal anything. I'll prolly reread this before I release it.

Found it today in a cafe in Randwick. Haven't read it before but have definitely heard of it. Big believer that the books we need find us, so very keen to get started.
