I really enjoyed this one. Loved the settings and the atmosphere, the characters, the eerieness. Also enjoyed reading the 'story within the story'. I thought the ending was well done too...no complete happy endings and it leaves you wanting more. I am now wondering if there has been a folow up story written?

I've also been meaning to try Kim Wilkins for a while, and now I can! (Picked up at this mornings Perth BC Meetup - I seem to have come home with all libertine101's books!!)

It took me a while to get into this book - i found Maisie a bit too - I don't know - pathetic and wishy washy to start with. However, probably 1/4 of the way in, it hooked me and I found this a very enthralling read. I was a bit disappointed in the ending, though - the action/resolution is pretty quick, and while I like the fact that there was no predictable and happy conclusion, I did find the ending - where Maisie is literally hanging in the air - unsatisfactory. I agree with libertine that Wilkins has set up this nicely for a follow up story -and I'd be glad to read it too, but I had a quick look through her bibiliography yesterday and it doesn't look like any of her other books are follow-ons. Still, I'd be very happy to read some of her other stuff based on this.
