Ah - the collision of 2 of the finest authors in the genre. This is a wonderfully funny book, the premise of which is that the world is about to end, only due to a mix up at the birth, the antichrist has grown up as a perfectly normal child in middle England...

Laugh out loud funny, and as special bonus, guess who makes an appearance as one of the 4 Riders of the Apocalypse??

I'LL GIVE YOU ONE GUESS

yup. him.

I have bought this especially to be released at the UK Bookcrossing Unconvention in Birmingham in July 2004.

Spotted on the table at the unconvention by my neice sandyundead and forced on me !! She had noticed I was on a ring for it so now I have my own copy to read! :o)

Many thanks swisstoni - and you are the second person I have had to appologise to for not saying hello in person - although I saw you from a distance !! That red T-shirt helped! And I was so wanting to hear ALL about your trip to aus.

I am following a challenge to read all books in my possesion which have been registered by other book crossers. This is next up - and I am about 50 pages in and really enjoying settling back in to the humour of TP and NG. I am actually very impressed that I am already up to reading books which I picked up at the unconvention!

I really enjoyed this book - haven't read any pratchetts for a while, it is like sitting in a very comfy old arm chair with a warm hot choclate and letting the words flow over you. Also it made a change to read a book set on earth. I like the way authors attribute real happening from the past to characters in the book - The M25 and it's hellish qualities being a good case!

Thanks for sharing Toni - and I am intending to RABCK this book on to someone in the near future.

Thought I would take the book to my new OBCZ to carry on its travels. It is going in the cafe in Salcey Forest which is a beautiful place to wrap up and go for an autumn walk followed by a tea and cakes in the cafe.

A book by my favourite author and it was just lying around waiting to be picked up. Well I can tell you I pounced upon it quickly before anyone else saw it.
It is one I haven't read and I have to say it is harder going than some of Terry Pratchets books but nontheless enjoyable.

I saw the name Terry Pratchett and thought hey a book by my favourite author there it was just lying around waiting to be picked up. Well I can tell you I pounced upon it quickly before anyone else saw it. It was good to have the opportunity to read a book by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, a first for me, I've always been unadulterated Pratchett up until now that is.

It is I have to say, harder going or perhaps just more complex than some of the books but nontheless enjoyable, funny and all the rest of those descriptive words that mean that you are thoroughly enjoying another good read courtesy of Bookcrossing.

What I like about Terry Pratchet is that he uses all things that we know, love and hate about history and all things weird, so we can relate to them even as we become involved in his wild imaginings.

I intend to pass this on to my Son who is visiting from Australia at Christmas, unless he has read it that is. So, who knows is it Oz next or will it end up back at the Salcey Forest Cafe, who knows.

Well, I've just finished reading this highly exciting tale of near miss world destruction. I have to say it was so gripping that it was all I could do to drag myself away and cook dinner or go to bed, even so it has been a tantalising few days and I found myself oddly moved by the final page.

What a combination of writers, as I've said before I've never read a Pratchett and Gaiman combination before and have always relied on the Discworld to bring hysterical laughter into my life. I should get out more!

The book is clever and funny and can easily put a smile on your face. A recommended read. I will finish the book on the plane on my way home to Australia where I will hopefully hand it on to someone else.
