I saw this book in the pharmacy and wondered how I had missed it up until now. The reason is because it was published on June 29th, two days ago!
It seems to me that Mr. Niven is slowing down a bit, and for a break from writing, has gathered all sorts of odd snippets for publication as a literary chop suey. Luckily, he's still a good writer and I'll enjoy this collection of mixed fact and fiction, reminiscences, and older and newer work.

This book is interesting and entertaining, even if it is all bits and pieces. For one thing, Niven explains how he collaborates with different authors. As a technical writer, I work with other authors or with their material--but I've never done it for fiction. So that was enlighening.
He also mentions that he feels himself to be scatterbrained, distractable, and prone to forgetting details. It could be ADD Inattentive type.
Scatterbrain goes with N-Space and Playgrounds of the Mind.
