I have almost finished Cooking Up Trouble by Molly O'Keefe, and have literally rolled the dice to see what I am about to read next. And, ta-da, this book was it. Shall journal as I go.

I read this book in two sittings as it was an engaging read. Unfortunately, this book fell apart in the process of reading. I am not surprised given that it was printed in 1954. However, I do want others to read the words so have bid on another copy on Ebay. When this comes through I will release that copy. I haven't decided whether to give the new book the same BCID or a new one (linked to this copy of course).

Before I sign off I want to share this passage with you ...

Once he'd gone, I felt calm again. But all this excitement had exhausted me and I dropped heavily on to my sleeping plank. I must have had a longish sleep, for when I woke, the stars were shinging down on my face. Sounds of the countryside came faintly in, and the cool night air, veined with smells of earth and salt, fanned my cheeks. The marvelous peace of the sleepbound summer night flooded through me like a tide. p153

I tend to be drawn towards quotes that pull in all the senses...

As we're moving back over the ocean to New Zealand I am finally releasing some books. I am sending this to some fellow pre-school teachers.
