Journal Entry 2 by lsnjd from Columbia, Maryland USA on Tuesday, August 03, 2004
I had already seen the movie (and all the related ones), but wanted to go ahead and read this anyway. I had also already read The Lost World, which I enjoyed. However, I'm not sure I enjoyed Jurassic Park as much. Maybe it was because I had already seem the movie and so I had that story in my head, as well as visuals for all the characters. It was still good, but I guess I was looking for more. There is much about the book that was changed for the movie, which is very normal, but some things really surprised me. I guess Hollywood had its reasons. There was one other thing that really bothered me and not to give anything away, but a major event occurs at the end of Jurassic Park, which prevents many events that happen in The Lost World. Now with the movies, the event does not occur so it's not an issue, but I was shocked that a writer would do this. Anyway, it is still worth the read, just be prepared.
