I loved this book - it's hilarious and inspiring. It's a great reminder to love yourself, but don't take life too seriously. Anyway, I gave it away for presents last year and I found this copy used, so I bought it thinking I'd do a bookring for it.

Now a bookring:
Flakes, IL
seekmyface, NY
Kelwood, OH, ship US/Canada
jessibud, Toronto, Canada/US

Thanks EvaLowrain! I've been wanting to read this one for a long time.

Celebrates being a woman, having friends and families, being outrageous and having fun. Jill Connor Browne has a delightfully dry and sarcastic sense of humor, and while reading her stories you might not realize that you're getting some great advice too!

A quick, fun read.

Now I'm off to the kitchen to make some Chocolate Stuff!

This is a bookring started by EvaLowrain. Recevied on 7/8/04 from fellow BC'er Flakes.
After looking though the book and reading the blub on the back, I realized this was not the book for me. Next stop is fellow BC'er Kelwood in OH. Good reading!

Journal Entry 6 by Beloved49 from Lynbrook, New York USA on Thursday, July 15, 2004
Book is on It's way to fellow BC'er Kelwood. Sorry for the delay. Next stop Oh.

Journal Entry 8 by kelwood from Toledo, Ohio USA on Sunday, July 25, 2004
A witty, irreverant, and often bawdy look at life and love. A quick read and easy to skip around and read the sections you want and pass on others or go back to them later. Definitely for women only.
:-)

Just finished this book. It was hilarious! A tad raunchy, definitely not too politically correct and most of all, very funny!! And tucked into the most unexpected places, a bit of good advice and genuine friendship.

I loved it! It will be in the mail tp princessaurora tomorrow morning!

Journal Entry 12 by princessaurora on Monday, September 20, 2004
Received in the mail today. I have two other bookrings ahead of this--one of them I've started already, but started reading this as soon as I opened it. I can't wait to read more!

P.S. Thanks for the postcards Jessibud! :)

I didn't like this book as much as others. Maybe my sickly mood had to do with not liking it.

Mailed off to the next person in line. They should be receiving it soon.

Journal Entry 19 by Ixion from Alexandria, Virginia USA on Thursday, March 31, 2005
This book arrived safe and sound, I'm in the middle of another one but will be done soon. Thanks for including me in this bookring, I was starting to suspect that it might not make it to me.

Well, I'm not southern and I'm not divorced or pissed off at the male side of our species. Can't say that I could relate with alot of what's in the book. I think it's entertaining on some level, but I guess I just don't understand the general rationale behind a lot of it.

Mailing to nomad on Monday.

Rec'd in the mail today. Look forward to reading it.

Journal Entry 22 by wingglade1wing from McLeansville, North Carolina USA on Tuesday, May 24, 2005
Received in the mail today. Will start this as soon as I finish the book I'm currently reading.

I realized that cheli-garza, who is ahead of me on the list, has not journaled this book. I sent a PM to see if she still wants to read it and will mail it to her next if she does...

ETA: I heard from cheli-garza and she had meant to be skipped, so I will not have to send it to her. (5-25-05)

Journal Entry 23 by wingglade1wing from McLeansville, North Carolina USA on Saturday, May 28, 2005
What a fun book! I am jealous of these women's lives! To paraphrase Ashley Wilkes, they have all the passion for life that I lack. I especially enjoyed the last section in which she talked about making the most out of life. After all the silliness of the previous chapters, this one actually moved me--I'm one of those with a "beige" life. I want to be a Queen!

I also really laughed at the chapter on the five men every woman needs. Ain't it the truth!?

Will mail back to EvaLowrain on Monday or Tuesday. Thank you so much for sharing this jewel!

BTW, I have "God Save the Sweet Potato Queens" and I'm going off to the forum in a few minutes to offer it as a bookring if anyone who read this book is interested in the sequel.

Update 5-31-05: I mailed this to EvaLowrain today.

Journal Entry 24 by EvaLowrain from Louisville, Kentucky USA on Thursday, June 2, 2005
Well, a copy of the book arrived safe and sound at my house today. BUT - it's not my copy. I'm like 99.99 percent sure this is another copy - the BCID number isn't even in my handwriting or on the stickers I use. I'm a bit weirded out by this. But, it is in excellent condition. I don't know. Maybe I forgot to put the BCID on and someone did it for me? I know that happened once...maybe it was this book. Anyway, thanks to everybody for participating in this ring!

Put up for Relay Index. If it doesn't go there, it'll be marked available again. Sept.14.
