Somehow I missed journaling this! It was on the desk in the kitchen, and never made it to the computer desk on the other side of the house. Sorry. It's just been one of those weeks! I AM going to sit down one of these days and just read and read and read.

Thank you so much!

8 out of 10

Enjoyed this book more and more, the more I read it. I thought I knew what it was going to be about, and I just read two or three lugubrious Oprah selections. I was afraid this was going to be another, but it was very interesting. Well-written. Thanks.

OK. I hope I got the right one. (That's the trouble with multiple copies - and BCIDs!) On its way to Scifisstrs in Philly on a Request. BTW, S. if you take the prefix off your last name, that's one of my lines - gr. grandmother. No relation, though, with yours. It's actually a large family, but I don't run into the name very often.

Enjoy the book! It was a good read.

10 out of 10

This is the first book that I read that was an Oprah's Book Club book that I actually enjoyed. I guess it was because I related to the character Kathryn. Being a truck driver's wife myself there is always that fear of getting that late night sad news just like Kathryn. My life is pararell to hers. She said it's different being a pilot's wife. The odd hours of work, Mattie and she adjusting to the rhythm of whatever day it brings. They lived in segments.

Again it could happen to anyone. I too would be shocked if I found out if my husband had another life and did I really know him. As Kathryn and her daughter Mattie adjusted to what happened to Jack, as too that anyone would have to do. And finally putting to rest that Jack was fighting a war that wasn't his.

Makes you wonder of what really goes unnoticed in the air today.
