10 out of 10

I bought this book in Rome while I was on holiday there - it is just wonderful. The book is a series of walking tours around the city with the words of two thousand years of past writers and artists providing the words along the way. Which other guide book, for example, has Dante, Henry James and Florence Nightingale sharing commentary on the same place? I had my Time Out guide but I wanted a book that would share some of the romance of the Eternal City for me - Fate led me to this book. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
