I read this hardcover a long time ago, and just got it back after it spent a long, semi-relaxing vacation at my friend's house. Semi-relaxing because at first it was left very much alone, but then was lost amidst the chaos that is known as "the ruins". The ruins consist partly of members of his own ilk... Now back in my safe hands, I am having a wee bit of difficulty conjuring up specifics as to my likes and dislikes.. As you can see, I've given it a nine, owing to my demands that the book be found and returned, and my delight when this finally occurred.
I recall that I shouldn't really have cared much about what Toby Young was saying, but the twists and turns that sprung up were too enjoyable to resist.. I wanted to find out what happened next.. Hearing dirt about some of the top people in the vast magazine business was quite entertaining, especially from this insider who saw things that many people don't see, and those that do see these things tend to know to keep their mouths shut and pens dormant.
