I didn't like this book nearly as much as the Inspector Lynley mysteries. It focuses this time on Deborah and Simon St James (with Lynley playing a very minor role!) as they head off to Guernsey to meddle in a police investigation into the murder of one of the islanders for which her american friend China has been arrested. I just didn't find the story very compelling although there was a twist to the story at the end.
