The Vagina Monologues: The V-Day Edition
14 journalers for this copy...
Every woman should read this book - learn to love your vagina!
This is my first ever bookring - woo hoo!
Thanks to Eucalia who wrote these guidelines for bookrings.
A bookring is when a book is sent from one person to another through a list of members who have signed up for it, and eventually ends up safe and sound back home with the person who started the bookring—me!
Here are the guidelines for this bookring:
1. When the person before you on the list is almost done reading the book they will send you a personal message (PM) asking you for your address. If you feel that you are too busy at that time to read the book within a reasonable time period (about 1 month), ask that person to skip you and go to the next person on the list. If this happens, PM me to let me know what’s going on and, if you want, I may be able to move you down the list so you can try again later.
2. When you receive the book, make a journal entry letting everyone know where the book is. Keep in mind that there are other people waiting to read the book after you, so try not to take too long to read it. If you know you won’t be able to get to the book within a month, pass it on to the next person on the list, PM me letting me know, and I can move you down the list so you can try again later if you’d like. If you’re reading the book and it’s taking you longer than expected to finish, make a journal entry letting everyone know! Remember, there’s no such thing as too many journal entries.
3. When you’re done (or almost done) reading the book, send a PM to the next person on the list asking for their address. Even if you think you already know that person’s address, it’s a good idea to double-check to make sure their address hasn’t changed—and also make sure the list order hasn’t changed since you checked it last. If the next person on the list doesn’t respond to your PM within several days, try again. If you still get no response within one week, PM me to let me know what’s going on and then skip this person and try the next person on the list.
4. After you’ve finished the book, journal a quick review of it for us letting us know what you thought of it!
5. Send the book to the next person on the list and post a journal entry letting everyone know it’s on its way. Sit back, relax, and watch the journals as the book completes its journey!
Please consider spending the extra 55 cents for delivery confirmation when mailing the book to the next person!

Then back to me!
Book ring. I will read it this week.
My first book ring book. I have learned to love my vagina! This was touching, amusing, sad, insightful....
Should get to this soon!
Powerful book. I can see how so much more powerful these would be performed. I desperately want to go to see them now.

received today, will journal when read
great book! wish there were more stories to read! I finished it before Thanksgiving but then went out of town...sending on to mysteryfan03 today
Got this today! I cant wait to read it, but do have a few rings in front! Thanks silverstarry for sharing!!
Silverstarry requested that I move this book on as many people are waiting on it. Rather than rush through it and put the book that I am reading on hold, I am going to get it on its journey tomorrow (when the snow and ice storm is over :+) Thanks silverstarry for sharing!
Received yesterday and have already plunged in. I'm loving it so far. I can't thank you enough, silverstarry, for offering this.
This book was shocking, maddening, conscience-altering, funny and all that makes a book good. I do hope to someday see this play, because I imagine how even more powerful these pieces must be in voice. I am so relieved to know that feminism is still alive -- and to see the advent of feminism's next generation. This book has had an influence on me at a time in life when I thought I'd seen and heard it all, so I thank you silverstarry and say to you: VAGINA POWER!
And now this slim and powerful book is on its way to nomadbooklvr just in time for V-Day, a holiday now with altogether different connotations.

Just wanted to break in with a reminder about this year's V-Day! To find a performance near you, check here.
Rec'd today in the mail. Thank you Junegirl for the chocolate heart! I can't wait to start on this.
I just finished this amazing book!! I can't believe I did not read this sooner. I am thinking I am going to have to get my own copy. I read parts of this book to my boyfriend & we talked about our thoughts on my beautiful VAGINA! I can't wait to see this performed. Thanks for sharing this book.
Book is here. I have a few ahead of it but I will get to it asap. Thanks for sharing Silverstarry.
I read this through in one sitting, I am very interested in seeing the show. Hopefully I'll get to do that one day. As one of the previous journallers commented the only thing I want is more stories. I should have this in the mail in the next couple of days.
Arrived yesterday. I put a paper cover around it so I could read it front of the kids. Hope to have this done in a week or two. Thanks for sending.
Oh my. I will have to get my own copy. I read the funny parts to my own daughter and shared the sad parts with my hubby and girlfriends. This book is a must read!
Thanks so much for sharing. I'll have it out to the next person within a day or two.

After a very long wait this has finally arrived. I look forward to reading it. I hope to be able to start it next week.
I can't begin to say how much I enjoyed this book. When I initally signed up for this ring, I really didn't know what to expect. I am so glad I took the chance and read this wonderful book. I agree with the others who mentioned the only thing that could have made this book better would have been more stories. I will definitely be purchasing a copy to add to my collection.
Thank you to silverstarry for allowing me a chance to read this. I contacted the next person on the list. I will get this sent out as soon I get the address.

Received today from KimsBooks03, thank you SilverStarry for including in me in this ring. I have received about 5 rings/rays in the last 3 days, so I won't read this one soon. I'll probably start it in 2 weeks.
I enjoyed this book and I'll definetely try to see one of the live Vagina Monologues. At first, I doubted I would truly enjoy it, but at the same time, I was a bit shy to borrow the book from my local library where they have known me since I was a young girl. Thank you so much SilverStarry for doing this ring, I truly enjoyed this book except the part about the V-Day because I had never heard of it and its logistics didn't interest me. Otherwise, it was great and I mailed this book to Chivers 2 weeks ago, so she/he will receive it soon.
i got this last week but couldn't journal because of internet conection's problem... already read it cause it is really a quick read, fun, sad, and touching.
will pm the next participant. thanks for letting me joing the b ring
