Hard to rate this book, because I'm not entirely sure whether I enjoyed it - as Lytteltonwitch says, it's rather intense. It also seemed to take a while to get going, and there were a few bits that were a struggle to get through... but saying that, there were also quite a few can't-put-it-down sections as well. Overall, I *think* it was good, but I'm not entirely sure...
A few pages are starting to come loose, so I'll ask MrPloppy to work his librarian book-repair magic on it, and then it's going in the Sydney bag...
