I bought this book because I read something about it being adapted to a movie and thought the premise sounded interesting. It's a TRIP. It's compared to 'Catch-22' on the cover. A funny, ultimately sad, quick read.

While I enjoyed this book, I wouldn't praise it as highly the commentators on its covers have… but then, I'm not getting paid for it, either.

I tore threw this book in 2 days. Not having a TV or our beloved PS2/Gamecubes here in our still-new digs in Germany, my reading speed has shot up. Fortunately, a big shipment of books from the Old New Country recently arrived to sate us.

I hope I'm not spoiling anything for future readers when I express my wish that the romantic plotline had never made into this novel. I also would have liked to have seen more history and more revelation in general about the circumstances of the characters. The '6' I'm giving it means I liked it enough to rate it favorably, but just barely.

I read it in a couple of days while lazing around the cottage. I tend to agree with Cliff's take on it.

A friend found this book while working at Blockbuster in Woodstock.
I didn't find this book to be anything exceptional but it was certainly served it's purpose as a quick vacation book.
I've set it free to sightsee on the Halifax harbour.
