Think it is a true story but not sure

Caught this from Lyttleltonwitch. She let it loose on an unsuspecting world and i managed to catch it with a variety of sausages and healthy green vegetables.
Unfortunately, i found out when i got it in my grubby, Spaniard-fondling fingers that i had read it before, and i had a copy already in my bookcase (you know the one in the lounge with a shelf dedicated to Iain Banks books ... sighhh). Anyway, to cut to the unexciting cgi-ed motorbike chase, it be a sex, drugs and rock'n'roll book told in Monsieur Banks' elegant wordage. Not one of his best but worth a damn good read ... so there. You may now carry on whatever you were doing to that buffalo ... i'm off to worry some Patagonian Jiggling Goats.

this book has somehow made it to Australia. Mrploppy do you know anything about that?
