I read this over a year and a half ago. A friend had recommended it as great if you need a good cry. 'So sad; so beautiful' - I think her words were. I don't think I found it that sad, or depressing, but I did enjoy it. Since then it has been doing the rounds - my mother, my sister, and my sister's friends have all read it - note the tatty cover - so it is already a well-travelled book (I bought it in Melbourne).
I hope whoever finds it will read it and let me know what they think - remind me of what I enjoyed about the book.

banoffi pie and books - what else is there to say??

I had been at Cafe Cuba awhile, and late in the arvo, went outside for a cig. No one else was around, and I sat at one table and noticed the book. When I realised it was a wandering book, my first thought was that I was meant to find this. Now I appreciate serendipity! I have started reading the book, and so far it is brilliant. It is not often I find the time to read books, but I believe I was sent this book for a reason.....it wasn't just coincidence.

I don't often read books but when I came across this one, I knew immediately that it was the type I would read if I was to choose one. Several of my friends have since read it, and we have all thoroughly enjoyed it. Time to share it with someone else now.

Update: Just checked back into this site for the first time in years. This book was picked up by a male staff member from the Stage Door Cafe, and a week later he moved to Australia and the book vanished. The End. ;-)
